What: Pemberton GRads View the Pemberton Secondary Grad Class of 2005 as they thank the community for their continued support throughout the years. The event is weather dependent. If raining or very windy the presentation will not be held.

What: LOCAL’S APPRECIATION DAY Locals this is your day on the mountain! Free sightseeing on Whistler, check out the new Peak Adventure, hot dogs at the Wizard Grill, face painting, balloons and freezies at the base from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. and much more. Don’t forget a free day at the bike park too. It’s just Whistler-Blackcomb’s way of giving something back to the community.

What: COMFORTABLY NUMB RUNNING RACE It’s a 25 kilometre trail running race on Whistler’s longest bike trail. There’s still time to sign up at www.comfortablynumb.com. $50 registration fee.

What: STRAWBERRY TEA The Pemberton Women’s Institute is holding their annual Strawberry Tea in conjunction with Canada Week celebrations. Bring $4 for a delicious piece of strawberry shortcake and tea or coffee.

What: Photo Fundraiser Three travellers/climbers will present their photos of South Africa, Namibia, the Himalayas and other spots around the world at this slideshow fundraiser. Admission is a minimum $5 donation and the money will go to the M.S. Society and a non-profit organization called Funanami.

What: Canada day parade Start thinking about your float ideas cause July 1 is fast approaching! This year’s theme is Whistler - Past, Present and Future. It’s free to enter the parade which winds through the busy village streets. Call Kristy at the Chamber, 604-932-5922 ext. 12.
