What: Canada day parade Celebrate Canada’s 138th birthday with the rest of Whistler at the annual Canada Day Parade. The parade begins at 2 p.m. and the ending ceremony is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. at the Gazebo in Town Plaza. Don’t miss out on the birthday cake and the entertainment.

What: PEMBERTON’S CANADA DAY FESTIVITIES Celebrate Canada Day Pemberton style! Join the parade at 11 a.m. on Frontier Street by the IDA Pharmacy. Parade ends at the Community Centre. Then join in the Family Festival at the Community Centre until 3 p.m. The evening events include a Bouncy Castle and medieval demos from 6-8 p.m. and a BBQ and beer garden until 10 p.m. That’s when the fireworks begin! It’s non stop action and fun for all!

What: artwalk If you missed it last year, don’t forget about the second annual ArtWalk this year. A village-wide exhibition of corridor artists spanning a variety of venues and an eclectic mix of artists. What: TELUS SKINS GAMES The 13th annual Skins Game is back at Nicklaus North Golf Club. This is the last chance to see Jack Nickalus in a North American competition. What: AUTHOR READING for kids The library’s Summer Reading Club will kick off with an author reading by Cynthia Nugent, who wrote ‘Francesca and the Magic Bike.’ The author presentation is most appropriate for children ages 5-9. Parents are welcome to attend. Nugent will speak at the Squamish Public Library at 1 p.m. on July 5 and the Pemberton Public Library at 11 a.m. on July 7.

What: AWARE Municipal staff member Heather Beresford will be presenting on the Whistler Protected Areas Network (PAN) which identifies a system of sensitive and important ecosystems and the corridors connecting them, among many other things.
