10-day scavenger hunt

What: FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT If you’re 13 years old or younger you can grab a Scavenger Hunt Worksheet Ballot at various locations throughout the village and solve the mystery clues in order to win some fabulous prizes! For more information about this event, which is a lead up to the Children’s Art Festival in July, contact the Whistler Arts Council at 604-938-9221 or check out the Pique’s entertainment section this week!

What: COMMUTER CHALLENGE/LUNA BIKE SKILlS SHOW Pro BMX riders will show off their skills at the skate park as part of the Commuter Challenge.

When: Thursday June 22

Where: Whistler’s Skate/BMX Park

What: COMFORTABLEY NUMB Cheer on 150 racers as they complete the grueling 25 km Comfortably Numb trail race. The race ends at the Spruce Grove Field House. The awards ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. at the field house.

What: W-B SUMMER LOCALS DAY Take advantage of the free and discounted offerings at Whistler- Blackcomb, designed just for locals.

What: STRAWBERRY TEA The Pemberton Women’s Institute is holding their annual strawberry tea in conjunction with Canada Week celebrations. For $4 you get a piece of strawberry shortcake and tea/coffee.

What: NATURE WALK The Whistler Naturalists are holding their first nature walk of the summer. Join in for a guided walk through Lost Lake Park.

What: LUNA SUMMER FLICK LUNA’s first summer flick is the award-winning movie – The Chumscrubber . It will be shown at the Drive-In on LUNA’s new giant inflatable screen. This event will be cancelled in the event of rain. Call LUNA hotline for updates at 604-902-0769. $5/person, $15/car maximum.

What: CANADA DAY PARADE The annual Canada Day Parade takes place in Whistler Village, starting at 2 p.m. from the Day Lots on Blackcomb Way and ending at Town Plaza Gazebo where there will be cake, awards and music.
