What: RED BULL ELEVATION Forty of the worlds top BMX dirt jump riders have been invited to throw down at the Red Bull Elevation - billed as the most progressive dirt jumping contest in the world. Check out at the action in Mountain Square at the base of the Bike Park. Qualifying rounds take place from 12 to 6 p.m. on Fri. June 30, the finals take place on Sat. July 1 from 2-5 p.m.

What: MONTHLY BIRD WALK Learn about local birds with birder Michael Thompson and the Whistler Naturalists. The walk starts at 7 a.m. but will be finished in time for the Canada Day parade a great way to kick off Canada Day!

What: SPUD RUN This is a seven km trail run that starts at the Pemberton Community Centre with proceeds going to the Pemberton Trails Association and the Pemberton Dragon Boat Team.
