What: SYMPHONY ? GRAND ? OPENING BC’s Minister of State for ActNow BC Gordon Hogg and WB COO Dave Brownlie will make it official on Saturday as the Symphony Express high speed quad opens for the first time. Join in the fanfare and get a cup of complimentary hot chocolate before taking your first ride up Symphony.

When: Saturday December 16, 11 a.m.

Where: Whistler Mountain

What: MOUNTAINEERS’ SOIREE British mountaineer, adventurer and photographer Ian Parnell brings his collection of stories and photos to the 8th annual Mountaineers’ Soiree. The silent auction begins at 7 p.m. with Parnell’s presentation to follow at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 in advance at Escape Route.

Where: Myrtle Philip School

What: Artisan market About 20 local artisans participate in the ‘Days Before Christmas’ annual event, featuring sculpture, glass, jewellery, photography and other gifts as well as glassblowing demos and other art creations. Call 604-932-5125 for info.

What: WHISTLER SINGERS CHRISTMAS CONCERTs The Whistler Singers will feature seasonal choir music and sing-a-long carols at their Christmas concert. The evening will also feature Chicks with ? Picks and fiddler Maddie Reid. Tickets are $10/adult, $5/child, $25/family and are available from choir members or at the door.
