What: YARD CLEANUP Strong teenage boys and girls are looking to earn money for their July trip to Whistler’s sister city in Japan. Looking to do odd jobs, yard work, raking leaves – you name it! By donation. For information call the Whistler Youth Centre at 604-935-8187.

What: RBC OLYMPIANS EXPERIENCE Whistler is the fourth stop on this five-city tour throughout BC. featuring opportunities to meet Canadian Olympians and Paralympians, ride a snowboard simulator, and view demos of the extraordinary training regimen of our world class athletes. Free for the whole family.

When: Friday June 8, 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: Skiers Plaza, Whistler village

When: Saturday June 9 – Sunday June 10, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

What: TOWN HALL Following an update from the mayor, Council members will move between seven tables and participate in round table discussions lasting five minutes each. The mayor and councillors will then cook up hot dogs and hamburgers for those in attendance. Childminding is available. RSVP to info@whistler.ca . When: Friday June 8, 3 – 5:30 p.m.

What: ENVIRO-FEST The theme for the sixth annual festival is Sustainability in Action and is geared at celebrating the successes that Whistler-area organizations have brought towards the movement. All activities are free.

When: Saturday June 9, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Mountain Square, Whistler village

 

What: WILD THINGS SCAVENGER HUNT Presented by EnviroFest and AWARE, kids of all ages are invited to explore the forest with naturalist Cara Richard. Must be accompanied by an adult. This event will run rain or shine.

When: Saturday June 9, 10 a.m.
