What: ARTWALK OPENING RECEPTION Join the tour of 30 art venues to admire paintings, photography, jewellery and sculptures in Whistler Village. After party at Merlin’s.

What: CANADA DAY PARADE The annual Canada Day Parade takes place in Whistler Village, starting at the Day Lots on Blackcomb Way and ending at the Town Plaza Gazebo, where there will be cake, awards and music. What: CANADA DAY IN SQUAMISH The second annual Canada Day in experience in Squamish. Put on by the Downtown Squamish Business Association. Festivities begin at Pavilion Park on Cleveland Avenue and run until the grand finale at night. For more info contact Gregory Fischer at 604-815-4448.

What: JAZZ VESPERS (IN THE MORNIN’) Celebrate Canada Day with the Whistler Village Church and hear the many rhythms of jazz in conversation with the Christian Story. Featuring Cameron Chu, “Whistler’s most talented piano man”, and The Rev. Dr. Gordon Turner, “Vancouver’s Jazz Priest”. All are welcome.

What: PEMBERTON SPUD RUN This is a fairly flat 7 km run with a combination of pavement and sandy trails. All proceeds donated to the Pemberton Valley Trails Association and the Pemberton Dragon Boat Team. $12/$5 or $20 family.

What: WHISTLER ART WORKSHOPS ON THE LAKE – DRAWING AND COMPOSITION This course for all levels will help you learn to use tools and techniques to draw what you see, as well as tips to help you with composition.
