What: BICYLCES FOR HUMANITY Help donate used bicycles to Africa. Bikes will be loaded into a container, with the goal of sending 400 bicycles. Donated bikes should be in working condition or fixable, no tricyles. Ideally, the bikes should not have thin road tires because they are going to a desert country. Spare parts and tires are also welcome! When: Saturday October 13, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

What: CORE READING PROGRAM Join the Whistler Core for great story books that will inspire curiosity in books for kids! This program is geared towards children 2 to 7 years old. Each week, will have a different story to read and a new and exciting adventure to experience. $2/child.

What: CHRISTMAS CAROL AUDITIONS Community performers in grades 1 to 7 are invited to audition for a stage production of “A Christmas Carol”, put on by the Whistler Children’s Chorus theatre department. What: POTTERY NIGHT The Community Life Division of the RMOW is pleased to welcome all experienced potters to this drop-in program every Tuesday. $9 drop-in fee, clay is additional. Wheels available for use. For info, call 604 935 8378.

What: COMMUNITY EVENTS COORDINATION PROGRAM Local organization LUNA is currently accepting applications for their event-planning program for young adults 18-35. The 11-month program is free and includes six in-class training sessions with industry professionals, hands-on event operations and promotion experience, and the opportunity to produce an event.
