The Whistler Arts Council has provided a grant which will be used to rent a cello, viola and double bass to compliment violins. For more info, contact 604-967-1681.

What: LUNA JAM LOUNGE Bring your own instruments and come out to jam with musicians of all levels at this event put on by LUNA. A special SOCAN Music Licensing session will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m., followed by the jam session. Attendance is $7/$5 for members. For more info, visit www.lunawhistler.com.

What: GREAT WHISTLER PARADE A part of Celebration 2010, this parade will feature a community percussion band, lanterns, banners and costumes. This event will feature Whistler culture and sports through the four seasons of the year.

What: FIS WORLD CUP ALPINE SKI RACES The Whistler World Cup Alpine Ski Races will feature the women’s Downhill and Super Combined on Wild Card, Jimmy’s Joker and Lower Franz’s run and the men’s Super G and Giant Slalom on the Upper and Lower Dave Murray Track. The event will also have lots of parties and free live concerts from various acts including rapper K-OS.

What: GROUP THERAPY STORYTELLING EVENT Part of Celebration 2010, Group Therapy is the Vicious Circle’s 6 th annual Literary Learning’s storytelling event. This event will feature six local scribes spinning tales live.
