What: FREE MOVIE On the last Friday of every month, LUNA screens a music film. This month’s movie is American Hardcore. The film takes place in the early 1980s when the American punk rock movement was starting up with acts like Black Flag, The Dead Kennedys and Bad Brains. Tickets are $5 or $3 for members.

What: SLEEPING BEAUTY This interactive storytelling theatre piece, presented by DuffleBag Theatre, retells original adaptations of fairy tales and Shakespearean classics. What: KIDS NATURE CLUB Whistler’s environmental group, AWARE, is putting on this information session for children. Kids aged seven to 11 are invited to come out and learn where Whistler’s drinking water comes from. Participation is free. For more info call 604-932-4457.

What: BALDING FOR DOLLARS Support local Whistlerites as they shave their heads to raise money for cancer at this event at the Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC). Balding for Dollars is a province-wide fundraiser in support of children with cancer at BC Children’s Hospital. For more info, visit www.baldingfordollars.com .

What: GREEN DRINKS This gathering is open to anyone interested in ‘green’ and takes place the first Wednesday of every month. Green drinkers get a free beer and appetizers. Entry is by donation. For more info, contact 604-935-0772.
