What: CHRIS CZAJKOWSKI – A MOUNTAIN YEAR One of Canada’s most seasoned outdoorswomen will give an illustrated lecture on her new book, “A Mountain Year.” Chris will sign copies of her book at “Bizarre Bazaar” on November 28 and 29, following this event.

What: SUPER SATURDAY FAMILY CRAFT DAY The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre presents a family craft day, where participants can make cedar paddle necklaces, as well as do wool weaving, cedar weaving and rock painting.

What: PEMBERTON COUNCIL SWEARING-IN Come meet the new Pemberton council – it’s the same mayor, but four brand-new faces on council, with a couple of familiar ones.

What: CITTA 25-YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY Citta Bistro is hosting a quarter-century anniversary party. It comes as the Whistler hotspot is fighting for its life. Beyond February, it doesn’t have a lease. So going to the party is a great way to help the “heart of Whistler” keep on beating.

What: WHISTLER CHILDREN’S CENTRE SILENT AUCTION The Whistler Children’s Centre is holding a fundraiser and community rally to help the centre, which has had to close two infant/toddler programs due to staff shortages. There will be a silent auction, music, tapas and wine. Tickets $55.

When: Wednesday December 3, 7 p.m. - midnight

What: WHISTLER FILM FESTIVAL Witness some of the best films on the festival circuit, including works by Atom Egoyan, Murray Siple and Kari Skogland. Screenings take place throughout Whistler, prices vary for screenings.

What: THE POLAR EXPRESS Chris van Allsburg’s timeless Christmas tale comes to life at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish. The Polar Express will leave the station at three different times each day and guests get hot chocolate and chocolate treats. They’ll also get the first gift of Christmas. Santa promises to be there.

What: FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY GAME NIGHT Friends of the Library hosts a games night at the Whistler Public Library. If you love books, and better yet, games, come out and participate!
