What: FREE YOGA SESSIONS AND MOVIES Lululemon in the Whistler Village presents free yoga sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays and movie nights on Thursdays. Upcoming focus films will include the BBC Planet Earth series, famous for its sublime shots of nature.

When: Mondays 8:15 p.m. - 9:15 p.m.; Wednesdays 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.; Sundays 7:45 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.

What: WHISTLER'S GOT TALENT Think you have talent? Show us. The Crystal Lounge hosts a show that'll display who's got talent in this community... and who doesn't. The search is on! Bring your pipes and that Les Mis song sheet and show Whistler that you're the next SuBo!

When: Thursday October 15, 7 p.m.

What: BRIDGING THE GENERATION DIVIDE The Whistler Chamber of Commerce presents a course for anyone employing 18- to 30-year-olds and how to understand them. Anyone who does will benefit from this special event. $99 plus GST for members $129 plus GST for non-members.

When: Friday October 16, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

What: DIAMOND AND PEARLS GALA Sea to Sky Community Services Society presents the second annual Diamond and Pearls Gala, after last year's event celebrated the Society's 30th anniversary. There'll be a full course meal and appetizers, ticket includes dancing, silent auction, door prizes and complimentary wine. Tickets $100, tables of eight are $700.

When: Saturday October 17, 5:30 p.m. - 1 a.m.

What: WASTED IN WHISTLER Mothers Against Drunk Driving brings a multi-media assembly program to town to educate people about the dangers of drunk driving - is there really anything else to learn about it? Road crashes are currently the number one cause of death for youth aged 15 to 19. Learn how to change that.

When: Thursday October 22, 1 p.m.

Where: Whistler Secondary School

 

What: SIMPLY ACCOUNTING LEVEL II The Whistler Chamber of Commerce presents accounting courses with Jinny Ladner. This follows the Level I course, which completes on October 16. The course is nine hours split over three days and costs $229 for members, $279 for non-members, with course book included.

When: Monday October 26, Wednesday October 28, Thursday October 29

Where: Whistler Public Library Computer Lab

 

What: FOODSAFE Work in food and beverage? Then this course is mandatory for all food handlers, whether cooks, servers or dishwashers. Foodsafe is the model by which we ensure that germs don't get into the food served to us at restaurants, and the Chamber of Commerce will tell us how. The cost is $99 plus GST.

When: Friday October 30, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

What: NORTH ARM FARM PUMPKIN PATCH Halloween's coming, do you have your pumpkin yet? If not, Pemberton's North Arm Farm can help. The sprawling farm located beneath Mount Currie has a cornucopia of pumpkins to choose from, so be sure to pick one up soon.
