Visitors, residents, and all community members are welcome to attend an event and get a slice of Whistler's history.

When: Thursday December 17, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Where: 4333 Main Street, next to Whistler Publi Library

 

What: NORMAN FOOTE WITH THE WHISTLER CHILDREN'S CHORUS Children's entertainer Norman Foote joins the Whistler Children's Chorus for an all-ages holiday concert. Watch the man behind songs such as "Extra Ordinary Alien" from the Backyardigans as he performs with our local children's choir.

When: Friday December 18, 7 p.m.

Where: Our Lady of the Mountains Church

 

What: WHISTLER HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE A free family fun zone that is unparalleled for its indoor entertainment and fun! Enjoy mini-golf, bouncy castles, kid's movie screenings and video games for the whole family to enjoy. Santa comes for the official opening party.

When: Friday December 18 to Thursday December 31, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Where: Telus Whistler Conference Centre

 

What: SANTA ON A FIRE TRUCK The Whistler Fire Department ushers Santa into town on a fire truck. It's an opportunity for local firefighters to raise money for the B.C. Professional Firefighters Burn Fund, which provides life saving, life supporting and life enriching services to people in British Columbia.

When: Saturday December 19 and Tuesday December 22, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Where: Mountain Square on the old Fire Truck with Santa's Sleigh up top

 

What: BIG BANG 2009 KosmiK presents a celebration of the Winter Solstice and Countdown of our Galactic New Year. The event uses inspiring visual projections, intergalactic decor, performing artists, info stations and music from DJ's Stevie James, Bruno Be and tobias.dj. Tickets $15.

When: Saturday December 19, opening ceremony starts at 9:30 p.m.

Where: Garibaldi Lift Company

 

What: A CELEBRATION OF THE WINTER SOLSTICE AND DICKENS' SCROOGE The Whistler Forum for Leadership and Dialogue presents an evening of dramatic reading and music for the darkest night. Readers include William Roberts, Squamish Chief Ian Campbell, G.D. Maxwell and Jennifer Miller. $10 donation at the door.

When: Monday December 21, 8 p.m.

Where: TELUS Whistler Conference Centre

 

What: WHISTLER VILLAGE CHURCH - CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE The community is invited to hear the Christmas story told through Christian worship, traditional carols and readings. Whistler Village Church is a partnership of the Anglican, Evangelical Lutheran and United Churches. All welcome.

When: Thursday December 24, 7:30 p.m.
