What: 7-11 FIRE AND ICE SHOW 7-11 and Whistler Blackcomb present the Fire and Ice Show, happening now until just after Boxing Day. Come to the base of Whistler Village Gondola and see fire spinners, fire works and hot pros from WB's Ski and Snowboard School throwing down through a ring fire.

What: WHISTLER VILLAGE CHURCH - CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE The community is invited to hear the Christmas story told through Christian worship, traditional carols and readings. Whistler Village Church is a partnership of the Anglican, Evangelical Lutheran and United Churches. All welcome.

What: AMERICAN FRIENDS OF WHISTLER INSIDE SCOOP The American Friends of Whistler present "Inside Scoop," a reception that will features special guests Ken Melamed, Trace Worthington and Doug Forseth who will all talk about how to get the most out of the Olympics when they come to town.

What: AVALANCHE AWARENESS DAYS FILM NIGHT Avalanche Awareness Days presents a film night with guest speakers in Squamish on Friday night. The film presented that night will be the award-winning avalanche safety film "The Fine Line" and guest speakers from BC Parks and the Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association.

When: Friday January 8, 7 p.m.

Where: Eagle Eye Theatre, Squamish

 

What: AVALANCHE AWARENESS ACTIVITIES Avalanche Awareness Days presents actvities in Garibaldi Park. Join BC Park Rangers at the Diamondhead Red Heather Warming Shelter for a series of activities. Local Conservation Officers will also be on hand at two popular snowmobile staging areas.

When: Saturday January 9 and Sunday January 10, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Where: Diamondhead Red Heather Warming Shelter, Garibaldi Park

 

What: PURINA INCREDIBLE DOG CHALLENGE Purina presents the Incredible Dog Challenge, a chance to see a premier canine sport event with some of the world's best dogs competing in events such as agility, pole racing, freestyle flying disc and skijoring. There will also be avalanche rescue at the Whistler Village Gondola.
