What: WINTER PARALYMPIC GAMES The Olympic excitement isn't over yet. Still to come are the world's Paralympians, fighting it out in an event that's meant to run parallel to the Games. Nightly medal presentations and victory ceremonies will celebrate winners of Alpine and Nordic events.

When: Friday March 12 to Sunday March 21

What: A WINEMAKER APRES Whistler Blackcomb presents a Winemakers Apres Series with a chance to sample a menu inspired by Steeps British Columbia. At this instalment you can enjoy Inniskillin with winemaker Sandor Mayer. Tickets begin at $59, taxes and gratuity not included.

When: Wednesday March 17, beginning at 2 p.m.

Where: Steeps Grill and Wine Bar

 

What: LUNA NIGHT OF THE NOMADS Late and Unique Nighttime Alternatives presents a silent auction with major tour companies Intrepid, Busabout, Moose Travel Network and Hostelling International. You may walk out with a bus tour of Europe! Entry is $7, $5 with LUNA member card.

When: Friday March 19, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Frontenac Ballroom

 

What: WHISTLER CANADA PARALYMPIC HOUSE COMMUNITY DAY The Whistler Public Library is being turned into Whistler Canada Paralympic House to the end of the Games. Come get an up-close look at the place on this special community day. Library to remain open during the Games.

When: Saturday March 20, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

What: "CONSUMING KIDS" FILM SCREENING Cedar Valley School presents a film screening of Consuming Kids, a critically acclaimed documentary about a marketing machine that's selling kids things like junk food and violent video games. It will change the way you think about modern kids.

When: Wednesday March 24, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Squamish Adventure Centre

 

What: TELUS WORLD SKI AND SNOWBOARD FESTIVAL Yes, regrettably there's another party coming. It's a 10-day-and-night showcase of progressions in the skiing and snowboarding world with arts and music events pumped full of adrenaline. It's Canada's largest free outdoor concert series. More details to come.
