What: STALKING THE WILD HEART READING The Oracle is hosting a literary event with two BC authors, both of them members of hte Gracesprings Collective. Deanna Kawatski will read from her novel Stalking the Wild Heart. Poet Alexander Forbes will launch his novella thereafter. Everyone welcome.

What: TELUS WORLD SKI AND SNOWBOARD FESTIVAL Yes, regrettably there's another party coming. It's a 10-day-and-night showcase of progressions in the skiing and snowboarding world with arts and music events pumped full of adrenaline. It's Canada's largest free outdoor concert series. What: 13TH ANNUAL DOGFEST WAG presents the 13th annual Dogfest taking place during the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival. It's a fun event that raises money for a worthwhile cause. See dogs dressed up, doing tricks and a dog parade! Dog parade registration is $5.

When: Saturday April 24, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., seminar 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

What: TEXAS HOLD'EM TOURNAMENT The Pemberton Lions Club is hosting a Texas Hold'Em Poker Tournament whose proceeds will go to support the Pemberton Skate Park, which is slated for a lot along Portage Road near the Community Centre. Must be 19 years old to play, $50 buy-in.

What: BELLY 2 BABY LADIES' NIGHT The Relay for Life team "Belly 2 Baby" and the Burrow are inviting you for a ladies' night to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society. What: 17TH ANNUAL FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE The Whistler Children's Centre puts on a fundraiser that will see fathers take their daughters to a dance at the marvelous Chateau Whistler. Tickets are $40 for dads, $20 for daughers and they're on sale now at www.whistlerchildren.com.

What: WHISTLER MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK OPENS Starting May 15, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will be open daily, ushering in the summer season in one of the world's greatest resorts. Be sure to bring appropriate padding, as the bike park can be a rough ride.
