What: SEA TO SKY BATTLE OF THE BANDS An event to support the Sea to Sky region's emerging musicians, this night has played a role in accelerating demand for musicians such as the Tell Tales, Jon Shrier Band, Slaughter Hollow, Papa Josh and Rachel Thom.

What: AWARE PUBLIC MEETING AND VANOC PRESENTATION ON SUSTAINABILITY The Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment will host a presentation on environmental sustainability at the 2010 Winter Games. This will mark the end of AWARE's focus on the Olympic Games.

When: Wednesday May 5, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

What: PEMBERTON AND DISTRICT HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Pemberton and District Health Care Foundation is holding its annual general meeting, where it will host the election of a new board, approve financial statements and deal with other business as needed. New members welcome.

What: ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH SPRING FLING Join St. John's Anglican Church for the 2010 Spring Fling to raise funds for the ministry in the community. They'll be selling quality Devry Greenhouse items, perennials for the garden, home baking and a concession will be available.

What: 17TH ANNUAL FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE The Whistler Children's Centre puts on a fundraiser that will see fathers take their daughters to a dance at the marvelous Chateau Whistler. Tickets are $40 for dads, $20 for daughers and they're on sale now at www.whistlerchildren.com.

What: WHISTLER MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK OPENS Starting May 15, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will be open daily, ushering in the summer season in one of the world's greatest resorts. Be sure to bring appropriate padding, as the bike park can be a rough ride.
