What: WHISTLER NATURALISTS MONTHLY BIRD WALK The Whistler Naturalists present their monthly bird walk, a way for locals to account for how many warblers, finches, snipes and robins we have perched up in the community's trees. Bring binoculars!

When: May 8, beginning at 7 a.m.

Where: Meet at foot of Lorimer starting from the bottom of Lorimer Road, where it meets the Valley Trail, and walk to Rainbow Park.

 

What: ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH SPRING FLING Join St. John's Anglican Church for the 2010 Spring Fling to raise funds for the ministry in the community. They'll be selling quality Devry Greenhouse items, perennials for the garden, home baking and a concession will be available.

When: Saturday May 8, 10 a.m.

What: 17TH ANNUAL FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE The Whistler Children's Centre puts on a fundraiser that will see fathers take their daughters to a dance at the marvelous Chateau Whistler. Tickets are $40 for dads, $20 for daughers and they're on sale now at www.whistlerchildren.com.

What: EVERY WOMAN Whistler Blackcomb hosts Every Woman, a weekend of activity offering workshops in fitnes, dance and wellness. Features hip hop, Capoeira, go-go dancing, West African dance and more! Everyone welcome, early bird price is $299 and regular price is $380. Register by May 14.

What: WHISTLER MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK OPENS Starting May 15, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will be open daily, ushering in the summer season in one of the world's greatest resorts. Be sure to bring appropriate padding, as the bike park can be a rough ride.

What: WHISTLER SOLAR DAYS The Resort Municipality of Whistler presents BC Solar Days, an afternoon of activities on May 29. Watch kids race solar cars, learn about solar hot water by touring the installation at the Meadow Park Sports Centre and enjoy fun giveaways like t-shirts, magnets, green pens and sunflower seeds.

When: Saturday May 29, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

What: ENVIROFEST The Resort Municipality of Whistler and the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation present Enviro-Fest, an annual event aimed at showcasing environmentally friendly choices offered within the Whistler community. Call (604) 935-0772 to book your space by May 14.
