What: PIPPA MOORE - QUILTING TRUNK SHOW The Aava Whistler Hotel presents a talk by Pippa Moore, whose book Travels with my Treadle tells of 12 widowed Ugandan women who learn how to sew through the Kitambaa Designs' Sewing Project. It's a story of hope. Admission $10 at the door.

What: WHISTLER MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK OPENS Starting May 15, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will be open daily, ushering in the summer season in one of the world's greatest resorts. Be sure to bring appropriate padding, as the bike park can be a rough ride.

What: THE NATURAL MEDICINE CABINET Registered Clinical Herbalist Evelyn Coggins presents a workshop on how to use food and herbs to alleviate common family health issues. Participants will take home recipes and free sample. Presented by Sea to Sky Women's Health Initiative and the Whistler Public Library.

What: WHISTLER SOLAR DAYS The Resort Municipality of Whistler presents BC Solar Days, an afternoon of activities on May 29. Watch kids race solar cars, learn about solar hot water by touring the installation at the Meadow Park Sports Centre and enjoy fun giveaways like t-shirts, magnets, green pens and sunflower seeds.
