What: Avalanche Awareness Days Join Park Rangers and Squamish Search and Rescue at Garibaldi Park to look for avalanche clues in snowpack layers and See how avalanche transceivers work and test your skills at finding buried beacons. BC Park Rangers will also be on the Whistler Blackcomb Resort Boundaries to raise awareness of avalanche safety with out of bounds and backcountry skiers/riders.

What: Natural World Lecture Series: Rex Weyler Join the Greenpeace International co-founder and author for a discussion about ecology and economu.  By donation.

When: Sunday, Jan. 16, 8 p.m.

Where: Brackendale Art Gallery

What: FILM MOVEMENT SERIES: Come Undone Join us on the third Monday of every month for award-winning independent and foreign films selected from the worlds top film festivals.  January's film is a romantic drama from Italy. Free admission.

When: Monday, Jan. 17, 7 p.m.

Where: Community Room, Whistler Public Library

What: QUEST LECTURE SERIES: Global Warming: What We Know and What We Don't Know Join David Helfand, President of Quest University, for a lecture on global warming. Free admission. No registration required.

When: Wednesday, Jan.19

Where: Whistler Public Library, Community Room

What: WAG Wednesdays All daycare fees will be by donation ($15 min) with 100% of the proceeds going to WAG. Please call in advance to reserve a spot for your pooch.
