What: Urban Gardening in Squamish - Join the Squamish Climate Action Network (Squamish CAN) to learn about the proposed CAN Farm in Squamish. The CAN Farm proposal would turn a one acre parcel of land in downtown Squamish into a progressive model of what is possible in urban agriculture while providing economic, social and environmental return on investments. The farm could be an essential tool for our communities to not only understand the massive challenges facing the current global industrial model of agriculture, but also possible solutions while providing food security, health and prosperity to individuals, the community and the environment.

When: Monday, June 6 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Where: Brennan Park (Senior Lounge).

 

What: Site C Dam Story - Learn about the consequences of the Site C project and hear first hand from the people most directly impacted by the project. If you care about climate change, food security, indigenous rights and wilderness areas, or are curious about energy demands in the province, this is a must attend event.

What: Bird walk - The Whistler Naturalists' bird walk will take place this coming Saturday. New migrants are arriving daily.

What: Tennis Day - The Whistler Racquet Club is hosting its annual Community Tennis Day. This is a day for the whole family with lessons, clinics, tournaments and matches for players and beginners of all ages.
