Another tough week for Winterhawks

Whistler’s minor hockey teams won a few but had a tough week overall in their respective leagues.

The Atom Rep team was the exception, beating North Vancouver 3-2 and Burnaby Winter Club 7-2 to bring their record to 13-4-4. Their next home game is Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

The Peewee C1 team (6-3-2) lost 6-2 to North Vancouver on Sunday. They play at Meadow Park this Sunday at 9 a.m.

Peewee C2 (5-1-4) lost their first of the year 8-5 to North Van C8.

The Bantam Rep (10-4-4) tied two games with identical scores of 4-4, the first against Richmond and the second against the Vancouver Thunderbirds. The play at home this Sunday at 3:14 p.m.

Bantam C1 (8-8-0) lost both games, with the scores not available at press time.

The Midget Rep team picked up a rare 6-2 loss against North Shore Winter Club on the weekend, bringing their record to 13-3-1. They play at home on Sunday, 6:15 p.m.

The Midget C2 team won both of their matchups, beating West Vancouver 9-2 and North Vancouver 3-2 to bring their record to 11-3-0. Their next home game is Sunday at 4:45 p.m.

The Midget Girls (2-13-2) continued to struggle, losing all three games against South Delta, North Shore and Richmond. They could use some support for their next home game on Sunday, at 10:30 a.m.

For the Record

In Maëlle Ricker’s column last week ‘Representing in Sweden’, the sports editor confused the Snowboard World Championships in Arosa, Switzerland with the upcoming Alpine World Championships in Are, Sweden. Our apologies for the error.
