The top skiers and snowboarders in Sunday’s Sprite Park Rider Series halfpipe laid down the gauntlet early with big moves in nearly perfect spring conditions.

The top skiers and snowboarders in Sunday’s Sprite Park Rider Series halfpipe laid down the gauntlet early with big moves in nearly perfect spring conditions.

Almost 60 athletes took part, which is low for the Sprite Series, but understandable with many of the regular athletes at the Boardroom Slopestyle at Mount Seymour and Whistler businesses running at full capacity for spring break.

In the prize draw Kyoshi Tereda won the Atomic Tweak skis and Charlotte Dutton won the Atomic snowboard.

The next Sprite contest is a Slopestyle on Blackcomb this Sunday, March 28, a makeup date for the slopestyle that was cancelled on March 7. Register in advance at any Whistler-Blackcomb Guest Relations or Ski School Sales location or on the day of the event in the Rendezvous Lodge.

There are four events left on the calendar following the slopestyle, including rail jams on April 4 and May 15, a snowcross on May 11 and another slopestyle on May 9.
