Squamish law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding an altercation Sunday night that left a man and a woman with serious injuries.

On July 14th, at approximately 9 p.m., Squamish RCMP was called to a reported domestic assault involving a knife in Valleycliffe, according to an RCMP news release.

Police say a man and woman were both injured.

Both were taken to hospital, where they received medical attention and have since been discharged.

Sgt. Jeff Shore of the Squamish General Investigation Section acknowledged "the quick response of neighbours who phoned 911 and administered first aid until emergency services arrived."

A 36-year-old Squamish woman was arrested and later released from police custody with a future court date.

The Sea to Sky General Investigation Section is working with the Integrated Forensic Identification Section on the case.
