A group of Sea to Sky riders made the trip to Quebec this past weekend to take part in the annual World Cup races at Mont-Sainte-Anne.
In the downhill, Squamish's Miranda Miller was 15th in the downhill, despite qualifying in 12th.
It was a long, fast and technical course, and crashes were common.
"I stayed on - I guess that was a step up from the tumble cycle I've been on," said Miller, "but I missed a couple of lines and need to work more to stretch my shoulders and arms out as I still seem to be losing control of my hands. I know I can do better than this - I've done it before - so I'm looking forward to riding Windham (New York) for the first time next week."
In the men's downhill the top Canadian was Steve Smith in seventh. Smith is having his best season yet and will head to Windham ranked fourth overall in the men's standings behind Gee Atherton, Greg Minnaar and Aaron Gwin.
In the cross-country, Squamish's Lauren Rosser was first overall out of eight riders, close to three minutes ahead of the next rider.
The previous week some of the same athletes competed in the Canada Cup downhill at Bromont, Quebec. A few Sea to Sky riders made the trip, and a few of them made the podium.
Squamish's Miranda Miller placed second in Senior Women and was the top Canadian in the race, with French rider Myriam Nicole taking the win by close to seven seconds. Micayla Gatto of North Vancouver was third and Pemberton's Jaime Hill was fifth.
Lauren Rosser of Squamish raced alone in junior women, but with a time that would have put her fourth in elite.
Australian Mitchell Delfs won the Senior Men, followed by Canada's Hans Lambert and Romain Paulhan of France. Olympic ski cross racer Chris Del Bosco finished 12th in the international field.
In Junior Men, Kip Shortreed of Squamish and Whistler's Max Horner were 10th and 11th respectively.
While the downhill athletes were in Quebec, local cross-country riders headed to the Cardiac Classic at Burnaby Mountain.
Squamish's Neal Kindree won the men's race in just under two hours, with Quinn Moberg placing third. Mo Lawrence was first in Junior Men 17 to 18.
Whistler's Trevor Hopkins was second in Master 30 to 39 men, 19 seconds back of first place.
Jesse Melamed of Whistler was first in Senior Men 19 to 29 by over seven minutes.
Rhys Verner of Squamish was first in Under 15 Men.
In Under 15 Women, Whistler's Bobbi Douglas was first and Squamish's Mikayla Martin second.
