Squamish riders dominate B.C. Cup

Race The Ranch, the second B.C. Cup cross-country race of the season took place in hot, dry conditions in Kamloops this weekend.

Race The Ranch, the second B.C. Cup cross-country race of the season took place in hot, dry conditions in Kamloops this weekend.

There was a good turnout with 110 riders at the starting line, many of them representing Team Squamish in the youth categories.

However, a large number were forced to pull out during the race because of issues with the heat, as well as mechanicals.

In the 30-plus Citizen Men's group, Sean Michel of Squamish placed third while Dan Moberg was 11 th .

Whistler's Marilyn Manso was second in 30-plus Citizen Women.

Whistler's Tyler Allison gave the junior category a miss, and competed in the Elite Men's group where he placed fifth overall, just three minutes back of the podium. Dwayne Kress of Squamish was sixth.

Jesse Melamed was second in the Junior Men 17 to 18 category, while Squamish's Hayden Drygas and Tobias Nolan were third and fourth.

Squamish riders Lauren Rosser, Teri-Rose Davis, Eden Imbeau and Maia Kilby were first, third, fourth and fifth respectively in Junior Women 15 to 18.

Philip Cairns of Squamish was fifth in Senior Men 19 to 29.

Montana Michel was fifth in Under 15 men.

Rob Leigh, Quinn Moberg, Aiden Davis and Owen Scully were second, third, fourth, and sixth in Under 17 Men.
