A stolen Squamish truck made the Lower Mainland TV news recently.
The truck featured in a Global News story on Friday, Jan. 10 was stolen over the holidays in Squamish.
The truck had evaded police and slammed into parked cars in South Vancouver, thus making it onto the news item.
"I can confirm the stolen vehicle in the VPD story was a Squamish stolen vehicle," Sgt. Sascha Banks told The Chief.
The 1995 Dodge Ram 250, with silver stripes along the side and back, was parked in the 38000-block of Eaglewind Blvd near Pemberton Avenue before it was reported stolen to the Squamish RCMP on Jan. 1st at 10 a.m., Squamish RCMP said.
Vancouver Police Department arrested a male associated with Squamish file and have forwarded charges, but Crown hasn't made a decision yet whether to approve charges, Banks added.
Two separate alleged truck thefts over the holidays, including this one, prompted RCMP to ask the public for help on the cases earlier this month.
The other truck, a red 1996 Dodge Ram dually truck, was recovered in the Lower Mainland, according to Squamish RCMP. Police haven't been able to identify a suspect thus far.
