The Whistler Secondary Storm Troupe gymnastics team brought home two medals and numerous top-10 finishes from the B.C. Secondary School Gymnastics Championships in Coquitlam last week.

Seven Whistler gymnasts participated, all in Grade 7.

In the Level 1 competition, Chantel Milan held her own in her first ever competitive event to finish third with her floor routine out of a field of 50 gymnasts. Dakota Den Duyf and Cayley Alexander also competed in Level 1, with strong routines on the bar and floor.

In the Level 2 competition, Beck Boese finished 14 th on beam, also against a large field of gymnasts.

In Level 3, Angelina Manuel made an error in her floor routine that likely cost her the win.

Kristi Poole-Adler competed in Level 4 where she earned a gold medal for a nearly perfect beam routine.

Niki Sadler, who went to the championships right after the B.C. Winter Games, competed in the Level 5 category against some of the top gymnasts in the province and earned several awards by finishing fifth on bars, seventh on the beam, eighth on the floor and eighth all around.

The team thanks chaperones Dalcy Den Duyf and Lanny Adler, coach Veronique Hamil, and all their supporters and coaches at Whistler Gymnastics.
