It's time to Strut Your Stuff. The fourth annual Community Registration and Information Fair will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Whistler Secondary. Hosted by KidSport Whistler, it will run between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. "It's a convenience for parents," says Janet McDonald, the allocations co-ordinator for KidSport. "It's a one-stop shopping idea." The event gives community groups and businesses a chance to inform the public about their programs and products. For parents, it's a chance to talk to group leaders, coaches, Parks and Recreation staff and to register their children for recreational and leisure activities. KidSport grant applications will also be available at the fair. KidSport Whistler aims to break down barriers and assist kids who cannot afford registration or equipment for community programs, says Sheila Mozes, the branch administrator for the association. Youth between the ages of 5 and 18 are eligible to apply annually. KidSport allocates up to $300 to help finance participation in community sports clubs. Every year 30-40 kids receive aid from the program. Grant applications are available at Strut Your Stuff or at the Whistler Community Services Offices at Myrtle Philip Community School. Call KidSport at 932-0113 for more information.
