Some 70 skiers and boarders turned out to the first Kokanee Valley Race Series super G of the season on Jan. 10, the third event on the series 10-stop calendar.
It was overcast on the Upper Dave Murray, but for the more serious racers, the course was both hard and fast enough to post some excellent times.
The pair of Atomic 10*22 skis that are given away during the awards ceremony after every contest went to Jay Roberts for the second time this season.
Jamie Finlayson, a 21-year-old FIS skier, posted the fastest time of the day in one minute 14.30 seconds, more than four seconds ahead of the next best time.
The top female was ex-FIS skier Kim McKnight with a time of 1:22.96. Scott Gillis was the top snowboarder in 1:39.29.
