Local youth empowerment organization Zero Ceiling may have padded their coffers with some coin after a recent blowout rummage sale but theyre not stopping there.
In an effort to raise even more money the charity is kicking off the winter season retro-style at Moe Joes the same day Whistler Mountain opens for the season.
There will be prizes for the best retro costumes and tickets are only $5 in advance.
The money raised at the party will go into the same pot as the $3,300 raised at Sundays giant rummage sale.
"When the doors opened there must have been over 50 people lining up to grab the best bargains," said Joanna Woods, program co-ordinator.
Shes hoping for the same on Thursday, Nov. 28 at Moe Joes. Doors open at 9 p.m. For advanced tickets call 604-932-6869.
Zero Ceiling brings Vancouver street kids to Whistler and gives them the chance to become snowboard instructors at Whistler-Blackcomb.
Since it was founded in 1997, 12 teens have graduated from the program.
