Two men were arrested after Whistler RCMP executed a search warrant on March 30.
The RCMP, suspecting drug trafficking at a residence in the 4300 block of Main Street, arrested a 20-year-old from the United Kingdom who lived at the residence, as well as a 24-year-old Australian who was with him.
According to a release, police found thousands of dollars in cash as well as a "significant amount of suspected cocaine and MDMA" at the residence. They also discovered marijuana plants, large quantities of marijuana "in various forms," suspected psilocybin and drug paraphernalia such as scales, capsules and scoresheets.
Both suspects were released on an undertaking and a promise to appear in North Vancouver court on June 20.
IMPAIRED DRIVER RESISTS ARREST
An impaired driver near Pemberton compounded her problems when she resisted arrest after crashing her vehicle.
Around 10:30 p.m. on March 27, Pemberton RCMP responded to a report of a collision with possible injuries on Highway 99 near Nairn Falls. When an officer arrived on scene, ambulance personnel were treating the driver, a 35-year-old Pemberton woman.
According to a release, the officer reported the vehicle was on its side off to the right of the roadway and had sustained "extensive damage." With grounds to believe the driver was impaired, the officer detained the driver for impaired driving. She began to assault the officer, at which point the officer informed her she was also under arrest for assaulting a police officer.
The driver was taken to the Pemberton RCMP detachment where she provided two breath samples, both of which exceeded the legal limit.
The woman was released on a promise to appear in Pemberton court for impaired driving, obstruction and assaulting a police officer.
IMPAIRED DRIVER NABBED NEAR SQUAMISH
Squamish RCMP also took an impaired driver off the road on March 28.
On that date, police received a report of an impaired driver operating a red Toyota around Lions Bay. Sea to Sky Traffic Services located the car on Highway 99 near Shannon Falls.
After speaking with the driver, police began to investigate him for impaired driving. The driver was issued an immediate 90-day roadside prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
TIRES, RIMS STOLEN FROM SQUAMISH DEALERSHIP
Thieves rolled off with eight tires and rims from a Squamish dealership over the weekend.
Squamish RCMP were notified of the theft from a dealership on Hunter Place on April 2.
According to a release, a man and a woman entered the business and left with tires from two vehicles, including one belonging to a customer.
One set of tires is described as Wrangler DuraTrac 35X12.50R20/10.
Anyone with information about the suspects or the tires is encouraged to contact Squamish RCMP.
ILLEGAL CAMPING HALTED
Squamish RCMP put a stop to illegal camping in Rose Park on March 28.
When police arrived at the park on River Road, they found a tent set up and a man sleeping there.
He was then asked to leave, as camping is not allowed in the park.
