Whistler Blackcomb security cameras caught three men breaking into the Camp of Champions office, which is located in staff housing on Glacier Lane, and stealing a large sum of cash from the premises. The surveillance video was taken at 11:43 p.m. on July 18.

The suspects had their faces covered and tried to gain entry into numerous rooms before entering the building through a rear window that wasn't under surveillance.

Items of clothing were also taken.

RCMP believe that the men may have known that there was cash on the premises before breaking into the office.

If you can identify any of the men in the photographs, contact the Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044.

Busy weekend for RCMP

The Whistler RCMP had a busy week and weekend, responding to calls and arresting people for a variety of alcohol-related offences in the village. On Friday alone there were 10 arrests for drunken disturbance; the majority of the 17 recorded in the entire week. The RCMP also attended 18 disturbance calls, 18 noise bylaw complains, 13 mischief calls where damage was called and 40 calls to 911 - all of which were accidental cell phone calls that the RCMP responds to as a matter of policy. The RCMP are asking cell phone users not to have 911 on speed dial on their cell phones, as false calls tie up officers and resources and could slow response to more serious calls.

There were eight cases of thefts from vehicles, but no residential break-ins. As well, thieves stole a white 1977 Yamaha motorcycle from Tony Sailor Lane between midnight on July 16 and 1 p.m. on July 17. The plate number was K53 156. There were no keys in the ignition, and RCMP believe it may have been loaded into a truck by the thief or thieves.

Overnight on July 19 a thief also stole a gray 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, licence plate 5E7QD from the 2200 block of Marmot Place. It's unknown if the keys were in the vehicle.

Police seek help in village brawl

On July 2 an altercation broke out between two males at the taxi loop of Village Gate, and one of the males suffered a severe injury to his eye. The suspect fled on foot and left his female companion behind.

The suspect is described as approximately six feet tall and 180 pounds, 28 years old, with brown or black hair in a pony tail. It is also believed he has several piercings in his ear and at least two piercings on his face. He was last seen wearing baggy blue jeans and an off-white hoodie and may go by the name Dustin.
