Sustainability is the topic of next week’s Olympic bid fireside chat.
Held at the Delta Village Suites Raven Room, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, the discussion will be hosted by Ken Baker.
Baker is the director of sustainability for the bid corporation. He has just returned from Nagano, Japan where he attended the fourth World Conference on Sport and the Environment.
Delegates attending the conference pledged to uphold the principles of sustainability in their sports activities as well as in their daily practices and to promote these principles on a global scale.
The International Olympic Committee will select the host for the 2010 Winter Games in July of 2003.
