Thanks to bear spotters

Since the call to all bear spotters (Pique, Sept 12, 2003) the crew working for the BBC has had some great calls regarding bears. Highlights of the filming over the last few days include a mother with three cubs playing in a back garden, and a bear eating a bicycle seat out at Lost Lake.

Paul Stewart, the cameraman, wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to make the calls. He has been really impressed by Whistlerites common sense around bears, the main reason they have been largely kept out of trouble this year.

Paul is in Whistler until mid-October, so please do keep the calls coming by cell phone if you have a current (or seemingly predictable) location for a bear in the garden or neighbourhood, sunrise to sunset 604-907-0164.
