TELUS WORLD SKI AND SNOWBOARD FESTIVAL . Annual festival of ski and snowboard competitions, photographer showdowns, mountain adventure films, concerts, parties and anything else that’s legal on snow. April 13-22.

WHISTLER DOGFEST 2001 . Includes the annual Doggy Parade and contests for cutest dog, best dressed dog and dog/owner lookalike. Takes place Sunday, April 15, from 1 to 5 p.m. in Mountain Square. Parade starts at The Puppy Zone at 3:30 p.m.

WHISTLER MUSEUM & ARCHIVES SPRING BRUNCH . The first edition of what will become an annual fund-raiser for the museum will be held at Joel’s at Nicklaus North April 22 at 11 a.m. In addition to brunch, the fun includes live entertainment, a Chinese auction and guest speaker Florence Petersen who will talk about Whistler B.S. (Before Skiing). Tickets are $50, available from the museum.

FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE . The eighth annual Father-Daughter Dance takes place Sunday, April 22 at the Chateau Whistler, 5-8:30 p.m. Proceeds from the evening, which is attended by 500 fathers and daughters, go towards the Whistler Children’s Centra and the computer program at Myrtle Philip school.

WHISTLER INTERNATIONAL WINE FESTIVAL. The annual festival, now in its 11 th year, is a fund-raising event for the Whistler Public Library. Wines presented by International Cellars Inc., with the support of the Consulates of Spain, the United States, Chile and France. Tuesday, May 8, 7-9 p.m. at the Chateau Whistler. Tickets are $25, available at the library, the conference centre and at the door.

MEETINGS/WORKSHOPS

WHISTLER COUNCIL MEETING. Adult entertainment. April 17, 7 p.m. in council chambers at municipal hall.

WHISTLER SLO-PITCH TEAM CAPTAINS MEETING . This meeting is mandatory for all team captains or representatives. Meeting is Tuesday, April 17, 7 p.m. at Myrtle Philip school. D, E and F Division representatives needed. Call 938-0555.

WHISTLER MUSEUM AND ARCHIVES SOCIETY. Annual general meeting is Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m. at the Museum and Archives’ building on Main Street. The society is accepting nominations for election to the board of trustees and seeking volunteers for fund-raising, marketing, new building development and other programs.

WHISTLER/PEMBERTON BIG BROTHERS/SISTERS. Annual general meeting to be held April 19 at the RCMP Community Room in Whistler. Meeting commences at 7:30 p.m. All welcome to attend to find out what has been happening in our agency during the last year. Also looking for new members to join the board and various committees.
