OLYMPIC FIRESIDE CHAT

. Richard Way of the 2010 Olympic Bid Corporation will discuss the Nordic sports facilities for the 2010 Olympic bid Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Raven Room at the Delta Village Suites. Guest speakers include several designers of Nordic facilities.

VANCOUVER SKI AND SNOWBOARD SWAP

. The 36 th annual edition of the swap has moved dates and location. The swap has been moved to B.C. Place Stadium, and will be held Oct. 26-28. Admission is by donation, with proceeds going to support junior racing and snow sport programs in British Columbia.

RAVENSCROFT?

Between Shifts Theatre kicks off its new season with the comic mystery Ravenscroft? at the Eagle Eye Theatre in Squamish Oct. 26-27 and Nov. 1-3. Set in a county manor in post Victorian England, the play follows the classic who-done-it with a modern turn of events. Starring Skai Stevenson as Inspector Ruffing and Carla Fuhre as the manor’s matriarch. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Special two-for-one matinee Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available at Billie’s Bouquet, Style Zone, Sea to sky Meats and Barb’s Beehive.

. The Whistler Chamber of Commerce organizes the final job fair of the fall, Oct. 29-30 at the conference centre. Drop off resumes to local businesses at the fair Oct. 29; interviews Oct. 30.

TRICK OR TREAT AND FIREWORKS

. Tapley’s Farm is closed to traffic and turned over to trick-or-treaters for Halloween. Whistler Firefighters and Nesters Market present fireworks at Myrtle Philip school, starting at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 31.

OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR

. Lyle Victor Albert’s autobiographical one-man Fringe play depicts the trials and tribulations of growing up, ending relationships, learning to drive – all with the added burden of cerebral palsy. At Maurice Young Millennium Place Nov. 2.

GONNA BUILD AN ARK

. Whistler Children’s Chorus present an afternoon of music Nov. 4, 4:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church.

CORNUCOPIA

THIRD DEGREE BURNS.

Treetop Film Productions presents their new snowboard film, Third Degree Burns, at the Rainbow Theatre Nov. 9-10. This is your chance to mingle with the pros, win some prizes, and check out the new film. Show times are 5 p.m. for all ages and 11 p.m. for age 19 and older. Tickets are $7 and available at shops in Whistler.

FLU VACCINE.

Coast Garibaldi Health Unit is offering free flu vaccine to all residents over 65, health care workers, emergency responders and anyone else with chronic medical conditions. . The Outdoor Adventure Leadership Program at Pemberton Secondary school is holding a giant rummage sale on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pemberton Secondary school gym. Come and find your Halloween costume or that missing piece of furniture. Baked goodies and lots of good stuff. Money goes to help cover the cost of the program, which begins in February 2002.
