TREKKING IN TIBET SLIDE SHOW.

William Jans is back again, with scenes from his journey through Laos, southern China and the Tibetan Plateau. At the Chateau Whistler March 30, 7:30 p.m.

JANA DUPUIS STUDIO RECITAL.

On March 31 Dupuis holds a studio recital from students in her classes. The recital is held at The Westin Resort and Spa, and students perform two pieces each. For information call 604-938-6435.

WHISTLER DAFFODIL DAY 2002.

One-hundred volunteers are needed to sell daffodils at Nesters, IGA, The Grocery Store and Upper Village Market on Saturday, March 30. All proceeds to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society. If you can donate two hours of your time, please call Joanne Turner at 604-938-1902.

THE SPIRIT OF HARRIET TUBMAN.

Lesley McCurdy performs in this one-woman show about the 19 th century "Moses of her people," Harriet Tubman. Born into a life of slavery, Tubman helped many African-Americans escape to freedom in Canada. A Whistler Arts Council presentation at Maurice Young Millennium Place April 5.

WHISTLER COUNCIL MEETING.

Debate on the World Economic Forum is the highlight of this week’s meeting, Tuesday, April 2, 7 p.m. at municipal hall.

FRIENDS OF WHISTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY.

Annual general meeting is April 3, 7:45 p.m. at the library. The purpose of this meeting is to elect a new executive. This group will undertake fund-raising events to contribute to the operating budget of the library.

AWARE MEETING.

The Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment meets Thursday, April 4 at 7 p.m. in the Delta Whistler Resort (downstairs boardrooms). SIERRA WIRELESS-AIR CANADA WHISTLER CUP. Seeking volunteers for this international juvenile ski race April 3-7. Children aged 11-14 from 21 nations will be competing. We are seeking ambassadors that speak Korean, Spanish, Japanese, German, Croatian, Polish, French and Russian. We also have on- and off-hill jobs.
