EARTH DAY

Whistler celebrates Earth Day April 20 with displays, presentations, dancing, music and face painting in Village North, at the Town Plaza Gazebo.

CHILDREN’S CHORUS SPAGHETTI DINNER.

Join the Whistler Children’s Chorus for Spaghetti Dinner Night April 21 at Myrtle Philip school, to help raise funds for their Canada Day Unisong fund. Thirty members of the chorus will be going to Ottawa this summer to be part of a 500 voice choir singing on Parliament Hill July 1. Tickets for the dinner are $15 for adults and $10 for children, available at the library or by calling 604-932-9797.

SFU professor John Claque discusses A Time When Ice Ages Ruled — The Ice Age in British Columbia. April 25, 7 p.m. at Maurice Young Millennium Place. $3 for members, $5 non-members, under 18 free.

DUAL MOUNTAIN MISCHIEF

The Whistler Rotary Club is putting on an evening of interactive dinner theatre, performed by the Corporate Play People. Dual Mountain Mischief will be held Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, with proceeds going to the Whistler Adaptive Ski Program equipment centre. SPRING SALE

The Pemberton Women’s Institute will be holding its annual spring sale May 4, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pemberton Legion. Garden plants, home baking, seed potatoes and white elephants.

WHISTLER INTERNATIONAL WINE FESTIVAL.

The 12 th annual festival takes place Thursday, May 9, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Proceeds go to the Whistler Public Library.

MAY FAIR!

The Alta Lake School is hosting the second annual May Fair on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the base of Blackcomb. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of children’s crafts, may pole dancing, storytelling, puppet shows, food and fun. Rain or shine.

GYMKHANA

Pemberton Valley Riding Club’s first of the season gets underway May 11 at 11 a.m. Barrels, pole-bending, keyhole, scurries, flag, quads, stake race and a jackpot.
