WHISTLER DANCE ACADEMY

The year end show will showcase 150 girls from age 5 and up performing ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre at MY Place Saturday, June 22 at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

WHISTLER VALLEY QUILTERS’ GUILD

The third quilt show will be held Saturday June 22 and Sunday, June 23 at the Blackcomb Kids Kamp Building from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admissions is $4. A quilt with the "Cabin in the Woods" design will be raffled - tickets are $2/each or $5/three. The draw will be held on June 23.

FLEA MARKET

There are tables available at Royal Canadian Legion in Pemberton on Saturday, June 22, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

YOUTH CHOIR

Whistler Village Church is pleased to welcome the Coastal Sound Music Academy Youth Choir to the service on Sunday, June 23 at 10 a.m. at Millennium Place. Under the musical direction of Sean Della Vedova, and accompanied by Barry Yamanouchi, this19-member choir will perform a selection of songs during the service. For more info call 604-935-8450.

BEAR SLIDE SHOW

Local black bear researcher Michael Allen presents The Social Life of Black Bears on Tuesday, June 25 at 7 p.m. at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Topics include: bear family count, behaviour of males vs. Females, family break-up and mating, spring population dynamics and encountering injured black bears. $10 admission. Proceeds support the winter 2002-03 Sleeping Bear Program.

Deck out in red and white and celebrate Canada Day in Whistler, July 1.

STRAWBERRY TEA

The Pemberton Women’s Institute has rescheduled the annual Strawberry Tea to Thursday, July 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Pemberton Museum.

BEAR SMART PRESENTATIONS

Presentations will focus on various aspects of bear biology & ecology, bear behaviour, living with bears in your backyard, and safety in bear country. Every Wednesday night 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Millennium Place. Admission by donation. For more info, contact J.J. Whistler Bear Society at 604-905-4209.

MEETINGS/WORKSHOPS

PEMBERTON HEALTHY COMMUNITY COMMITTEE

A public meeting to establish a committee, which will talk about all issues in the community to make sure Pemberton stays healthy on Monday, June 24 at 7 p.m. at the Community Centre Room 111.
