WHISTLER WINETASTIC>>

This is the seventh annual evening for international wines and cheeses as part of the TELUS Winter Classic charity event. There will be over 150 wines and cheeses to sample at the Westin Resort & Spa on Friday, Jan. 24 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $45. The charity race takes place the next day on Whistler Mountain.

SHAMAN’S VOICE, SHAMAN’S BODY>>

Rick Gossett teaches people to find their ‘Voice’, learn to sing a song till it sings you, and discover their Spirit or power song. He will also teach people to experience movement, improvisation and body postures. The course, $60 before Jan. 25 and $75 after) is on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. -5 p.m. at the Tantalus Lodge.

VARIETY CLUB FUN DAY IN D’ARCY>>

For several decades D’Arcy has raised thousands of dollars to donate to the Variety Telethon to help kids in B.C. On Saturday, Feb. 1 the fun will begin again with a pancake breakfast, live auction, dinner and bingo. There is also a heart race down Gates River – hearts are $10. All the events are held at N’Quatqua Community Hall and all are welcome to attend.

WHA FORUM>>

The Whistler Housing Authority is launching the first in a series of interactive forums at MY Place on Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The session will look at examples of smaller, more compact housing. Tickets are $9.95. For tickets or more info call the WHA at 604-905-4688.

TJ DAWE ONE-MAN SHOW>>

TJ Dawe won the 2001 "Just For Laughs" comedy award in Montreal and Best Male Performer at the 2002 Orlando Fringe Festival. His one-man show, The Slip-Knot, is at MY Place on 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. For more info call the Whistler Arts Council at 604-935-8419.

The sixth councillor, Marianne Wade, will finally get to join the table on Monday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. at Municipal Hall.

PEMBERTON AGM>>

MLA Ted Nebbeling will be at the Pemberton Hotel banquet room on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. The topics up for discussion are the New Community Charter, 2010 Olympic Bid and other issues of concern.

PAC>>

The Parents Advisory Council meeting on the last Monday of the month. All are welcome in the library at Myrtle Philip School at 7 p.m. The next meeting is Monday, February 24.
