SHAMAN’S VOICE, SHAMAN’S BODY>>

Rick Gossett teaches people to find their ‘Voice’, learn to sing a song till it sings you, and discover their Spirit or power song. He will also teach people to experience movement, improvisation and body postures. The course, $60 before Jan. 25 and $75 after) is on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. -5 p.m. at the Tantalus Lodge.

VARIETY CLUB FUN DAY IN D’ARCY>>

For several decades D’Arcy has raised thousands of dollars to donate to the Variety Telethon to help kids in B.C. On Saturday, Feb. 1 the fun will begin again with a pancake breakfast, live auction, dinner and bingo. There is also a heart race down Gates River – hearts are $10. All the events are held at N’Quatqua Community Hall and all are welcome to attend.

WHA FORUM>>

The Whistler Housing Authority is launching the first in a series of interactive forums at MY Place on Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This session "Smaller is Beautiful" will look at examples of smaller, more compact housing. TJ DAWE ONE-MAN SHOW>>

TJ Dawe won the 2001 "Just For Laughs" comedy award in Montreal and Best Male Performer at the 2002 Orlando Fringe Festival. His one-man show, The Slip-Knot, is at MY Place on 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. For more info call the Whistler Arts Council at 604-935-8419.

COMMUNITIES THAT CARE WORKSHOP>>

Learn more about the risk factors that increase the chances of young people getting caught up in substance abuse, delinquency, teen pregnancy and violence, and how to promote healthy development at the Spruce Grove Field House on Feb. 8-9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CELEBRATION 2010>>

Whistler joins the rest of the province in celebrating Canada’s arts and culture. The festivities begin on Feb. 14 and continue for three weeks. Stay tuned for more about the different events around town.

MEETINGS

PEMBERTON LIBRARY AGM>>

The meeting will take place on Wed. Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Library. The 2002 Annual Report will be presented and four new board members will be elected.

AWARE MEETING>>
