An all-female Australian acoustic folk group. They mix wickedly mouthy humour with gorgeous harmony at MY Place on Fri. Feb. 21 at 8 p.m.

THE HERITAGE OF OUR TOWN>>

Local athletes will be sharing memories, telling stories and participating in a Trivia Game at MY Place on Sat. Feb. 22 from 7-9 p.m. The event, which is part of Celebration 2010, is free, so dress up in your old Olympic gear and join in.

DANCE MEDIA ON THE SLOPES>>

An outdoor show with live performances and technical projections on the snow right onto the base of Whistler Mountain on Fr. Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. There will be local performers as well as some well-known BC artists.

CASINO NIGHT – MIYA LAS VEGAS>>

Pemberton exchange students are looking to raise some money for their Miya, Japan exchange fund with a casino night at the Pemberton Secondary School on Sat. COUNCIL>>

The mayor is back for the next council meeting on Mon. Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at Muni Hall.

MATURE ACTION COMMITEE AGM>>

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Mon. Feb. 24 at MY Place. MAC members, potential members and the public are invited. Guest speakers include Tim Wake, Whistler Housing Authority, and Bob MacPherson, of the RMOW. Discussions will focus on seniors’ housing opportunities in Whistler, among other things.

ONGOING EVENTS

VIDEO-DISCUSSIONS ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND RECOVERY>>

Sea to Sky Community Services is hosting video sessions every Monday from Jan. 27 to Feb. 17 from 3-4 p.m. at the Whistler Health Unit, 4380 Lorimer Rd. The topics deal with addiction, its impact on the family and recovery. On Mon. Feb. 17 the topic is ACOA: Adult Children of Alcoholics. For more info please call 604-894-6101.
