An outdoor show with live performances and technical projections on the snow right onto the base of Whistler Mountain on Fr. Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. There will be local performers as well as some well-known BC artists.

CASINO NIGHT – MIYA LAS VEGAS>>

Pemberton exchange students are looking to raise some money for their Miya, Japan exchange fund with a casino night at the Pemberton Secondary School on Sat. March 1 from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Blackjack tables, the roulette wheel, and a silent and live auction are all part of the deal. Call Arlene McClean for more info at 604-894-6754.

WINTER WEETAMA CELEBRATION>>

Enjoy the arts and culture of the local Aboriginal communities at Winter Weetama from March 1 to 3. Free artisan workshops explore basket making and tools at MY Place and there will also be stone carving in Mountain Square. Whistler Village will be alive with performers in full regalia on Sat. March 1 and Sun. March 2 from 1 to 6 p.m. and on Mon. March 3 from 2 to 3 p.m. Check out the ad in the Pique.

SPUD VALLEY LOPPETT>>

The 11 kms cross-country event through Pemberton Meadows starts at 10 a.m. at the Outward Bound School on Sun. March 2. The event depends on the weather. Skiers keep your fingers crossed for snow.

Winter coats for children of all ages can be dropped off at Dual Mountain Drycleaners, both locations, at Market Pavilion and Function Junction. Now open at Maurice Young Millennium Place. Activities include ping pong, pool table, Playstation, Nintendo, Internet access, big screen projection TV, day and overnight trips and tons of other activities. Needed are donations of videos, games, Playstation and Nintendo games and any other "cool" stuff. For hours of operation call 935-8410.

This free program is to assist persons with a disability to prepare for, obtain, and keep employment or self-employment. Financial assistance may be available for skills development, wage subsidies or special work-site adaptations.
