DISORDERED EATING SUPPORT GROUP>>

Whistler Community Services will be conducting an eight-week support group aimed at providing a safe and secure environment for women to discuss issues surrounding food and body image. The group will be held each Tues. from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the teen centre at MY Place, starting March 11. There are still spaces. PEARL’S PLACE TRANSITION HOUSE>>

Call toll-free 1-877-890-5711, or 892-5711 in Squamish, direct to support workers available to listen to and support women experiencing abuse. The shelter can house seven women and children.

PEMBERTON SAFE CLINIC>>

Safe Healthy Sexuality Clinic, open Mondays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Pemberton Health Centre, 1403 Portage Road. Call 604-894-6367.

SAFE HEALTHY SEXUALITY CLINIC>>

Free HIV testing. Birth control counselling and supplies, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy counselling and other professional services at a reduced cost. Confidentiality assured. VICTIM SERVICES>>

Victim Services assists victims, witnesses, family members or friends who are directly affected by any criminal act or traumatic event. The staff and volunteers provide information on the rights of the victim, information on the court process and, where appropriate, police case file updates. In addition, they offer emotional support and provide appropriate referrals to professionals in the community to aid the recovery process.
