The one-man play‘The Truth about Love and/or Marriage’ will be performed by Nils Ling, Canada’s TV, radio and print columnist at MY Place on Fri. Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15-$18.

FIRE RESCUE SERVICE OPEN HOUSE>>

Check out the Whistler Fire Rescue Service at an Open House on Sun. Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be an automobile extrication demo at Hall 2 in Alpine at 11:30 a.m., followed by a fire attack and patient rescue from Hall 3 in Creekside at 12:30 p.m. The Grand Finale will take place at Hall 1 in the village with a simulated synchronized fire attack at 1:30 p.m. Food and drinks available.

BELIZE AND CUBA SLIDE SHOW NIGHT>>

Enjoy a journey through some of the world’s most amazing destinations at the Myrtle Philip School from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thurs. Oct. 9. The slideshow is free and is put on by SeaKunga Adventures, an adventure travel company.

LATIN DANCE WORKSHOPS>>

Learn the Rumba, Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha and Argentine Tango at two workshops on Tues. Oct. 7 and Wed. Oct. 8 at Buffalo Bill’s. Workshops start at 7 p.m. For info call 604-932-3502.

SKI CLUB SWAP>>

Support Whistler’s athletes at the Whistler Mountain Ski Club SWAP from Oct. 10-13 at the large white tent at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. Find new and used sports clothing, equipment and accessories. All purchases include a donation to the WMSC athletic programs.

THE FROG PRINCE AUDITIONS>>

The Missoula Children’s theatre is holding auditions for The Frog Prince on Mon. Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. in the Millar Room, Myrtle Philip School. Auditions are open for all Whistler kids from Kindergarten to Grade 6. The performance takes place on Sat. Oct. 18.
