COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE>>

The community is invited to an open house at the newly-renovated TELUS Conference Centre on Sat. Nov. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. Tourism Whistler staff will offer tours and light refreshments will be served.

ANNUAL RETURN OF THE SALMON FESTIVAL>>

The salmon are returning to Squamish to spawn and there’s a festival in their honour! Go to the Brennan Park Recreation Centre on Sat. Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for face painting, BBQ, fish prints, dancing and celebrating. Call 604-898-9171 for info.

THE PATH TO MODERN ALPINISM>>

BEST OF BANFF FILM FEST>>

Action, adventure and exploration are all part of the Best of Banff Film Festival. The festival comes to Whistler Nov. 28 and 29 with a 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. show each night. Films will play at the Rainbow Theatre. Get tickets in advance at Escape Route, $14/show, $26 for both shows.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS>>

Tickets for the 13 th annual Festival of Lights Gala are now on sale at real estates companies around town. The $100 tickets include dinner, wine and a live band. The evening on Sat. Nov. 29 at the TELUS Conference Centre will raise money for local charities.

PEMBERTON CHRISTMAS CRAFT BAZAAR>>

St. David’s United Church annual Christmas craft bazaar on Sat. Nov. 29 at the Pemberton Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A wide variety of hand-crafted items, art, home baking, Christmas cookies and woodwork.
