SQUAMISH YOUTH THEATRE PRODUCTION>>

The inaugural production of the newly formed theatre group called The Squamish Youth Theatre will take place from March 25 to 27 at 8 p.m. at the Eagle Eye Theatre. Tickets are $8 adults and $6 students/seniors and are available in advance at Highlands Video and Mostly Books.

COLIN HAY WITH TESSA AMY>>

Take a step back in time and remember Men at Work, that Australian music band circa 1980s. Lead singer Colin Hay is back and he’s in Whistler with a new CD called Man at Work. Tessa Amy will open the show on Fri. March 26 at 8 p.m. at MY Place. Tix $20/$17.

LUNA POOL PARTY WITH DJ MILTON>>

This Late & Unique Nighttime Alternative will be a fundraiser to support children with cancer. Go to the Meadow Park Sports Centre on Thurs. April 1 from 9 p.m. to midnight for a pool party with DJ Milton. Head-shavees get in for free, otherwise $2 at the door.

WHISTLER FIRE RESCUE CUP>>

Firefighers are raising money for the BC Burn Fund with a 10-team hockey tournament at the Meadow Park Sports Centre. The tournament kicks off with Whistler Fire Rescue playing Delta Fire on Fri. April 2 at 1 p.m. Finals on Sun. April 4 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a beer garden, raffle, puck toss, T-shirt sales etc, to raise money. Call 604-984-1154 for info.

Pavlo is a guitarist with a Mediterranean flair. Check out his performance on Sat. April 3 at 8 p.m. at MY Place. Adults $20/students and seniors $17.

BALDING FOR DOLLARS>>

Support children with cancer at the 3 rd annual Balding for Dollars at the GLC on Sat. April 3. Head shaving will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will last until 6 p.m. You can pre-register for your shave time at 604-905-2533. Pledge sheets are online at www.baldingfordollars.com .

2 nd ANNUAL WILDERNESS TRAIL RUN>>

Discover spring in Pemberton during the 9 kms wilderness run on the shores of Mosquito Lake on Sun. April 4 at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Entry fee is $15. Meet at the "4-corners" at Reid Rd. and Ivey Lake Rd.

HANSEL AND GRETEL OPERA>>

The Alta Lake School is bringing the story of Hansel and Gretel to MY Place on Sun. April 4 at 2 p.m. The Vancouver Operatic Society production of the Grimms’ tale will be a specially adapted for young children. Tix are $9.99 for children, $15 for adults. Call 604-935-8418.
