Time trial championships in Squamish

Back by popular demand, the 2003 Provincial Time Trial Championships will once again be held in Squamish on Aug. 17. The 38.5 km course along the Elaho River on Squamish Valley Road is flat, fast, and a good challenge of strength and speed.

Hosted by Escape Velocity, the event has day of registration only, starting at 7:30 a.m. The racing gets underway at 9 a.m., and is followed by the awards barbecue.

The medal categories are for junior and senior men and women. The B.C. Masters Time Trial Championships are the following weekend in Duncan.

The race costs $27 to enter, or $35 including the barbecue. Although the event is sanctioned by Cycling B.C., one event memberships are available.
