WHAT: Tourism Whistler AGM

WHERE: Delta Whistler Resort

WHEN: Wednesday, May 14, 5:30 p.m.

Guided tours of the ongoing renovations to the Whistler Conference Centre are the highlight of this year’s Tourism Whistler annual general meeting, taking place during the members open house.

The open house, which gets underway at 5:30 p.m., will include a look at Tourism Whistler’s marketing and sales achievements over the past year, including highlights from various internal departments, including Meetings and Incentive, Media and Communications, Destination Awareness, Internet Projects, Festival Experience, the Whistler Golf Club, and Brand Advertising and Promotion.

This is also a chance for members to learn about the Whistler Peaks Accommodation Rating system, as well as to pledge their support for the 2010 Olympic bid.

The open house will run until 7 p.m., with guided tours of the conference centre leaving from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The annual general meeting gets underway in the Black Tusk Room at the Delta Whistler Resort at 7 p.m.

The results of the 2003-2004 Tourism Whistler Board of Directors election from mail and online ballots will be announced, as will the results for the positions of Non-Hotel Lodging Director, Hotel Lodging Director and Commercial Director.

Tourism Whistler president and CEO Suzanne Denbak will give a message following these announcements, after which Diane Mombourquette, the vice president of business operations, will review the 2002 financial statements.

The open house and AGM are only open to Tourism Whistler members and members of the media.
